How to save a Short
- Open the Short in the YouTube app or in your browser and copy its link. Use the share button or the address bar.
- Paste the link into the box above and choose Video.
- Press Download. The file is saved as an MP4.
Vertical format
Shorts are filmed for phones, so they are vertical (9:16). We keep that shape. The resolution is up to 1080 by 1920, which is the highest the creator uploaded. A Short uploaded at lower resolution stays at that resolution.
Sound and watermarks
The audio is included in the MP4. The tool does not add a watermark of its own. Shorts may still show the creator's name, captions or overlays that were part of the upload.
Saving to your phone
- iPhone: the file goes to the Files app. Open it, then choose Save Video to save it to Photos.
- Android: the file goes to Downloads or Gallery.
Limits
- Files up to 500 MB. Shorts are almost always far below this limit.
- Files are deleted from our server after 1 hour.
